11 listopada is set shortly before and at the beginning of World War II. It tells the story of a group of Scouts from Zielonka, a small town near Warsaw, who decided to continue in secret their scouting activity. One night, on the eve of 11 November 1939 (Polish Independence Day), they put up in the streets of the town 15 hand-made posters with the text of Rota (The Oath), a poem and an anthem. In the gloomy reality of the German occupation this act was supposed to express hope.

The Warsaw Uprising was the largest military operation undertaken by the civil resistance movement in Europe. In Paris, thanks to the help of the Allies, the uprising ended in victory after just a week of fighting. Before the end of the war, the insurgents in Prague cut off the German army retreat into the American sector. The slaughter was prevented by the Russians who liberated the city. Unfortunately, the insurgents in Warsaw waited in vain for nine weeks for help from the Allies.
